About the Project
The Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection brings together works and art objects from different times and places, from dozens of countries to Brazil, spanning from antiquity to the mid-20th century. Except for the way it is exhibited, however, there is nothing from the present. Considering the absence of contemporary art, KURA created the Pandora’s Box project.
By introducing contemporary art into this collection, the Pandora’s Box project sparks curiosity while allowing various periods of art history to coexist with the present—the unsettling world we live in. We do this by embracing art as a bearer of hope. Each edition of the project features a new exhibition by a contemporary artist, produced after an immersion in the collection. — Camila Yunes Guarita
