Mimosa Echard (Alès, France, 1986)
She lives and works in Paris and investigates the creation of hybrid ecosystems where the living and the non-living, the human and the non-human coexist. Her works explore areas of contact and contamination between organic objects and objects of consumption - elements that, in our cultural conventions, can seem contradictory. Materials used vary from medicinal plants collected in her garden to cosmetic products or electronic components, as well as copper sheets, metal chains and shells. The artist is the winner of the Marcel Duchamp Prize, an annual award given to a young artist and held by the Association pour la Diffusion Internationale de l'Art Français.

EXHIBITIONS
Monet - Mitchell / Louis Vuitton Foundation
Until 02/27/2023 The "Monet - Mitchell" exhibition, on display at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, proposes a dialogue between the legacy of the artists Claude Monet (1840-1926) and Joan Mitchell (1925-1992). The innovative format of creating a dialogue between different productions that share common points relates the landscapes painted by the two artists during their careers. The result of the expography is the meeting of gestural and energetic canvases by Monet and Mitchell, which portray foliage, water and atmosphere - elements capable of reflecting the mutual affinity with the landscape. The exhibition brings together 60 emblematic works by both artists and allows the public an immersive journey marked by parallel and complementary pictorial developments.

Earthseed: Julie Curtiss, Loie Hollowell, Marguerite Humeau / White Cube Paris
Until 12/17/2022 The dystopian world created by Octavia E. Butler (1947−2006), an influential science fiction author, is the starting point for the exhibition, which brings together works that refer to a journey through space, considering different movements of the female body as a space for transformation and gateway to the imagination. The three contemporary artists, whose work is in dialogue, connect through the female body. Marguerite Humeau locates the roots of our spiritual sensitivity tangled with the origins of human consciousness and speculates on evolution; Julie Curtiss presents an unsettling surrealist depiction of femininity and suggests rituals; finally, Loie Hollowell celebrates human reproduction, in a language of forms that refer to the earth and the cosmos.
